I had the pleasure of listening to the sing along yoga class tonight while working at the Nourish reception desk, and I have to say that it was the MOST FUN class that Nourish has ever offered. I got to sing while I was working! I can't even imagine how awesome it was for everyone who attended to sing while doing yoga. So for all those who missed the class, but still want the fun of yoga with a karaoke twist, or for all those who attended and can't wait to do it again, here is the playlist from tonight:

I had so much fun teaching this class. I often want to sing along during classes and it was so great to get to do it and really go for it! As I said in class, singing is a yoga practice and last night we all practiced really well. See you at the next sing along!-Victor
ReplyDeleteThis was the most liberating yoga class I've ever experienced. I was tentative at first, unsure of how much everyone, especially me, would simply let go and SING! But the playlist was flawless and as soon as the first song came on by Stevie Wonder the excitment for what we were about to experience together could be felt throughout the loft.
ReplyDeleteSoon enough, as one song was beginning to end I found myself pumped with anticipation to hear what the next great song was going to be. When Lean on Me came on by Bill Withers, it felt like we were all bealting the lyrics out from our hearts and I couldn't help but tear up from the feeling of pure release I felt in that moment.
Afterward I went over to a friends house and immediately told them all about it. They are not yogis by any means, but at the sight of my big smile and description they soon started saying, "I wanna go to a Sing Along Yoga Class!!"
I can't wait for the next one and I'll be spreading the word now so we can experience this wonderful class with even more people next time. See you all then!

Ken and I had a blast at the yoga-sing-a-thon. It was fun and funny. Singing while doing yoga suppressed that little voice that often intrudes on my practice. I didn't know a lot of the words to the songs, but la la la did the trick.
ReplyDeleteI am still grinning ear to ear every time I think of Sing-Along Yoga. Besides being the most fun yoga class EVER, the act of singing had a really positive effect on the intensity and flow of each yoga pose; we HAD to breath well in order to sing. It was pretty impressive how Victor managed to put together the most perfect music for this most perfect class. We were all ages and everyone was clearly thrilled by his choices- there were even moments of applause! The surprise of Sing-Along Yoga was like a gift... Christmas/Chanukah, Birthday, Valentine's Day, and Mother's Day all rolled into one! ~ Jill
ReplyDeleteI loved the sing-a-long yoga class too. I can’t carry a tune in a bucket and in some yoga poses I can barely remember to breathe, let alone sing, but none of that stopped me from having an absolute blast. There is something very special about singing together. Thanks everyone for sharing the experience.
